International recognition of French mathematicians (19 August, 2010)

President Sarkozy very warmly congratulates the French mathematicians who got outstanding achievements at the International Congress in Hyderabad (India).
He expresses his deepest gratitude and admiration to the two French researchers who won the Fields Medal : Cédric Villani, professor at Lyon's Ecole normale supérieure (1) and director of the Institut Henri Poincaré (Université Pierre et Marie Curie-CNRS), and Ngô Bào-Châu, professor at the Université de Paris-Sud.
