Visit to the French Embassy by the ANU International Relations Society [fr]
On 31 March 2015, the Embassy of France in Australia hosted 20 students from the ANU International Relations for an official visit and reception.
The students had the opportunity to meet with key policy-makers at the Embassy of France for an informal talk relating to diplomacy and French-Australian relations.
The visit included a presentation of the Embassy of France’s role in Australia by First Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission Mr Cédric Prieto; a discussion of France’s role in the EU economy with Economic Counsellor Mr Christian Benoît; and a debate about public diplomacy focusing on French-Australian cooperation in cultural affairs, led by Mr Eric Soulier, Head of Culture, Education, Science & Technology, and Mrs Catherine Hodeir, Higher Education Attaché.
The debates were followed by afternoon tea at the Residence.
