Currency

Under French and EU regulations, anyone entering or leaving the European Union, carrying cash (notes and coins) or securities (shares, bonds, capitalization bonds, transferable securities, etc.) worth €10,000 or more (or the equivalent in another currency) – whether doing so for themselves or for a third party (including legal persons) – must declare these currencies, securities and assets to the customs authorities.

In France, this requirement also extends to people traveling to or from another EU country. Failure to declare such funds, or incorrect declarations, can incur a fine or result in prosecution.

To declare, you have 2 options : fill out the form or proceed on line.
