Temporary work permit

If you will be gainfully employed during your short stay in France, you will have to provide a Temporary Work Permit when applying for your visa.

GENERAL INFORMATION

- The temporary work permit requirement also applies if you intend to perform any artistic activity, modelling, farming, wine harvest, or any professional activity implying receiving a salary once in France, whereever is the employer.

- Domestic workers accompanying their employers must also obtain a temporary work permit from the relevant DIRECCTE (France) or DIECCTE (overseas territories).

- The work permit issued in a French overseas territory is only valid in this territory. If you hold such a license and want to work in France, you must obtain a new work permit. The only exception is the EU Blue Card residence permit, which allows you to work in mainland France and in overseas departments.

- Please note that the Consulate general of France in Sydney can only process professionnal visa applications once the temporary work permit has been provided. The consulate does not deal with the temporary work permit which has to be applied for directly at the relevant DIRECCTE/DIECCTE by your employer.
