The Press and Information Department has four main tasks: monitoring the Australian media and the image of France in Australia, the Embassy communication, press logistics support, protocol and French decorations.
Monitoring the Australian media and the image of France in Australia
The Press and Information Department monitors print, online and broadcast media. A review of the Australian press is produced daily. The Press and Information Department analyses the coverage of French news by major daily newspapers.
Embassy external communication
Working under the Ambassador’s direction, the Press and Information Department regularly briefs journalists and answers their questions on French government decisions on main national and foreign policy matters.
The Press and Information Department, together with the Consulate-General in Sydney, updates regularly this website. Press and Information Department answers numerous questions on France and Australia, asked by telephone, email or letter.
Press logistics support
The Press and Information Department selects journalists to be invited in France and helps coordinate their journey. The Department supports Australian journalists wishing to secure interviews with French political personalities. It also organises meeting for the Australian media with the Ambassador and with French personalities visiting Australia.
