"These young Brazilians brought the house down. Their Agwa is pure Champagne." Le Progrés, France

Correria Agwa is part of Spring Dance - Sydney’s International Dance Festival - two weeks of the world’s best movers and creators in a series of Australian and World Premieres.

In Agwa, There’s an explosion of energy as 11 young Brazilian dancers from the slums of Rio de Janeiro break, pop, lock and waack their way across the stage in these two distinct yet complementary works that have won over both critics and audiences worldwide.

"They have taken street dance and elevated it to another level....It’s a high-energy fusion of samba, hip-hop, capoeira, boss a nova and electronic music, all mixed up with in-your-face acrobatics. It makes you smile – and it definitely makes you want to dance." Curator Rafael Bonachela
