Launch of the 2016 "Dis-moi dix mots" competition [fr]

Enrol your class in the 10th chapter of the “Dis-moi dix mots” competition organised by the French Ministry of Culture every year. Pupils learning French are invited to work on ten words in a creative way.

The ten words chosen for the 2016 chapter exemplify the diversity of French language across francophone countries: in France, "chafouin" and "fada", in Quebec "poudrerie" and "dépanneur", in Belgium "lumerotte" and "dracher", in Switzerland "ristrette" and "vigousse", in Haiti "tap-tap" and in Congo "champagné".

You are a secondary school teacher in France or overseas:

The competition is aimed at classes wishing to complete a collective pedagogical, literary and artistic project around 10 given words.

Don’t miss out and enrol by January 31, 2016!

The "Dis-moi dix mots" competition is open to all overseas secondary schools.

Deadlines:
- To enrol online: by January 31, 2016
- To send your entries: by March 31, 2016

For further information and to enrol in the “Dis-moi dix mots” competition, see: https://www.reseau-canope.fr/dis-moi-dix-mots/

An awards ceremony will be organised in Paris in the spring of 2016. The 4 laureates (two pupils and their respective teachers) selected from two overseas secondary schools will be offered a trip to France on this occasion.

In 2015, a team of five Year 7 students from Auburn High School’s Advanced French Class had won first prize in the overseas school section of the prestigious “Dis-moi dix mots” competition. The laureates were invited to the Académie Française where they were presented with their prize.

You are a primary school teacher in France or in a certified French school overseas:

The competition enables classes to illustrate ten words through diverse artistic media (including drawings, paintings, collages, etc.) in order to facilitate learning of the words and stimulate the pupils’ creativity. The resulting picture book is a collective work, blending text with illustrations, and putting in context between three and ten of the given words.

The competition is open only to French primary school classes, including certified French schools that are members of the AEFE (Agence pour l’enseignement français à l’étranger) and the MLF (Mission laïque française).

Deadlines:
- To enrol in the competition: by Feburary 15, 2016
- To send your entries: by March 31, 2016
