A National Memorial Service marking the 10th Anniversary of the 2002 Bali bombings took place on Friday 12 October 2012 at the Parliament House in Canberra, in the presence of the Governor-General Mrs Quentin Bryce, numerous government officials and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
The bombings, which occurred on 12 October 2002, killed 202 people, including 88 Australians, and injured many others. Diplomatic representatives from Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States of America and the United Kingdom, who lost citizens in the bombings, were invited to place a flower on the National Memorial Wreath during the Service.
