CAESIE: Connecting Australian-European Science and Innovation Excellence
‘Connecting Australian-European Science and Innovation Excellence’ (CAESIE) is a new vehicle for driving collaboration between Australian and European researchers and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). CAESIE aims to promote collaboration to address some of the world’s grand challenges: covering Clean Energy; Healthy Ageing through enabling technologies; Sustainable Cities
The importance of CAESIE as a bilateral program between Europe and Australia is its ability to build sustainable linkages between SMEs and researchers in the area of science and technology.
Outcomes expected include:
increased awareness about opportunities for research and innovation collaboration, and
strong, strategic linkages and increased innovation capacity to advance solutions for key societal challenges.
The acceleration of the collaboration process through CAESIE enhances innovation capacity that benefits both the Euro
CAESIE is for SMEs and researchers in Australia and the EU who are seeking support to collaborate on programs or activities within the current CAESIE priority areas. The range of activities is broad and it is worthwhile exploring these to see if you are eligible for support.
Whether you are in Australia or the EU you need to determine if you are eligible to apply for assistance through CAESIE. Take the test. If this test indicates that you may be eligible then you will be put in touch with a National Contact Point to discuss your proposed idea or activity.
The National Contact Points (NCPs) are ’networks of networks’ set up to assist CAESIE participants.
NCPs have been selected for their expertise and knowledge in the three CAESIE priority areas, and experience in facilitating research and innovation relationships. The NCPs are designed to provide:
Assistance in searching for partners in Australia or the EU;
Guidance on funding priorities and sources of matching funds;
Advice on administrative procedures and contractual issues;
Advice on proposal writing; and
Advice on where to find documentation (forms, guidelines, manuals etc.).
